Quality Service: Keep them from going crazy!

Quality Service: Keep them from going crazy!
Agrovif 2018 meeting point, moderated by Laurent VENAILLE, Director ofExper-IAA Pôle Expertise of Keendoo, with the participation of Bertrand VIGNON, CEO KEENDOO.

Let's save quality services from the infobesity of food product data!

This was Laurent Venaille's credo at the Meeting Point he hosted at Agrovif 2018: "Quality service: stop them going crazy!"

Indeed, the inflation of data relating to a food product reference, generated or requested, is everywhere in the company. Several departments produce or use product data, such as Marketing, Purchasing, R&D, Logistics, etc. However, the management of these food product data, a thankless task, is often largely transferred to the Quality Department.

Are we aware of the volume of information involved, the complexity of the system, the impossibility of dealing with it in the near future, the pain points already encountered?

Only a fluid and collaborative mastery of the product repository will save your quality manager from madness and your company from indigestion!

And in your company, who manages the product data? Who is responsible for its reliability?

Are you sure you can find them quickly in case of an unexpected audit? Are you sure that they are all up to date at all times?

Food product data management solutions can relieve the burden on quality departments in the food industry...

Product data is the central axis in the agri-food industries. They are scattered in the various departments that generate them and often duplicated by the departments that use them. Under these conditions, the product data linked to a reference is difficult to find. Moreover, how can you be sure that they are all up to date? PLM-PIM solutions associated with an EDM allow them to be centralised in order to build a single, cross-functional Product Repository, a real workspace shared by all departments. Thus all product data is reliable, quickly accessible and easily kept up to date. It is then shared and secured by specific access rights for each user. Such tools greatly relieve the Quality department, which is no longer the only department in the company to manage food product data.

Agrovif is the annual event of VIF, the agri-food software publisher.
